SneedSpeed 77mm Tapered Piston Ring Compressor – 3D Printed Engine Assembly Tool

Install pistons faster and easier with the SneedSpeed 77mm Tapered Piston Ring Compressor, designed for accurate piston installation during engine assembly.

The SneedSpeed 77mm Tapered Piston Ring Compressor is a purpose-built engine assembly tool designed to compress piston rings evenly as the piston is installed into a 77.00mm cylinder bore.

Manufactured using 3D printing technology, this lightweight tool features a tapered internal profile that gradually compresses the piston rings as the piston moves through the compressor and into the cylinder.

Unlike traditional adjustable band-style ring compressors, the fixed-diameter tapered design eliminates the need for repeated adjustments, making piston installation simpler and more consistent.

Features & Benefits

  • 77.00mm Bore Size: Designed specifically for engines with a 77.00mm finished cylinder bore.

  • Tapered Internal Design: Gradually compresses piston rings during installation.

  • 3D Printed Construction: Lightweight, purpose-built design for engine assembly.

  • Fixed-Diameter Fit: No adjustable bands or tightening mechanisms required.

  • Easy Piston Installation: Helps guide piston rings smoothly into the cylinder bore.

  • Reusable Design: Suitable for repeated engine assembly work when properly maintained.

Ideal Applications

  • MINI Cooper R53 W11 engine rebuilds

  • MINI Cooper R56 N12, N14, N16 and N18 engine rebuilds

  • Stock 77.00mm cylinder bore applications

  • Professional engine building and DIY engine assembly

Specifications

  • Brand: SneedSpeed

  • Tool Type: Tapered Piston Ring Compressor

  • Bore Diameter: 77.00mm

  • Construction: 3D Printed

Installation Notes

Lightly lubricate the piston rings, cylinder bore, and inside of the compressor with clean engine assembly oil. Position the compressor squarely against the engine block and gently guide the piston into the cylinder.

Ensure the piston rings are correctly installed and positioned before installation. Never force a piston if resistance is encountered.

Important: Designed for 77.00mm cylinder bores only. Not intended for oversized 77.50mm or other bore sizes. Inspect the tool for damage, deformation, or rough internal surfaces before use.
